How the pension contribution hikes will hit GPs

The Department of Health is to impose its first set of pensions contribution increases on GPs in 2012/13. The 2.4% hike – which is the first of three rises to be phased in before 2014/15 - will see the average GP's pay packet hit by £120 per month.
