New entry

After taking over as chair of the clinical and prescribing subcommittee at the GPC last October, Dr Andrew Green has become a welcome voice of reason in all the debates over impractical NICE guidance and inappropriate prescribing rules.

The East Yorkshire GP has succinctly made the argument over the ‘opportunity cost’ of the recent NICE recommendation to extend statin treatment to more healthy people and led GPC opposition to plans for a ‘bundled’ NICE indicator that would see GPs only be paid if they carry out multiple checks in diabetes patients.
