5 March, London – Understanding Parasites

We are pleased to announce that the world-renown Professor of Parasitology, Dr Omar Amin, of the Parasitology Centre Inc., Arizona USA, is coming to the UK in March 2014 to talk about the common incidence of parasites and the misconceptions, which surround the topic.  The talk, which takes place at the Royal Society of Medicine, will give medical practitioners an insight into this often-overlooked subject.

This presentation is based on Dr Amin’s work at the Parasitology Center, Inc. (PCI), in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA and covers the diagnosis, pathology, and treatment of human parasitic infections in the United States, Europe and elsewhere in the world. A brief introduction to laboratory procedures, misdiagnoses/mistreatment, and impact on public health is made. The systematic treatment of protozoan and helminth (worm) parasites, emphasizing epidemiology and exposure, symptoms, gross pathology, and herbal and allopathic remedies will be discussed.

All topics are presented with illustrative labeled pictures of the various kinds of parasites and their gross pathology in human tissues, when applicable. The presentation is followed by a brief discussion of case histories as tested by PCI as well as the treatment of intestinal pathogenic bacteria that usually cause GI symptoms similar to those caused by intestinal parasites. This presentation begins with a pre-lecture questionnaire and ends with answers. For more information please see www.parasitetesting.co.uk
