Anti-GP story of the year



The Daily Mail outdid itself in the sheer extravagance of its GP bashing throughout 2010, laying into GP pay with abandon as though it was shooting up, not hurtling down. The best of the lot though came just last month, with the revelation that GPs' income is not just too high, but actually lethal… ‘knocking three years off UK lives', according to the front-page headline.

A special commendation here to the Daily Express, which took one of Pulse's own stories – that GPs were worried they would receive insufficient funding to commission safe out-of-hours care – and splashed it across the front page with the headline ‘Greedy GPs want more cash'. Thanks guys...
