Clinical Picture of the Week: Cartilage damage

This woman has cartilage damage characteristic of Wegner's disease.

The case presented as a 61 year old female patient with Wegner's Disease showing characteristic damage to the cartilage of the nasal septum due to reduction in blood supply and followed by collapse, giving saddle nose appearance.

This picture was a bronze award winner in the 2009 Institute of Medical Illustrators awards and was taken by M. Claire Thomspon at the medical illustration department in Perth Royal Infirmary, Scotland.
