What we did
The app is called Induction and is a directory of phone numbers and bleeps for hospitals, with the numbers provided by other users. It’s more extensive than any other directories and can be used to contact doctors, secretaries, nurse specialists, clinics and wards directly.
The result
This is the quickest way I have found to contact people directly – for example, if I’m looking for advice from a particular consultant’s secretary.
It saves time by bypassing the switchboard, and you know if the number is engaged, you can simply call later. It also prevents misdirected calls and is useful for house calls, where the GP practice’s own directory may not be accessible.
