An NHS spokesperson told Pulse: ‘The recent GP Access Fund trailed a number of different approaches to deliver more accessible and convenient services for patients in the evenings and weekends. Now that the pilot phase is completed, all of these schemes are continuing to deliver improved access as part of the mainstream services commissioned by their CCG.
‘The recently announced General Practice Forward View also earmarked £2.4 billion a year for general practice services by 2020/21 and included a care redesign section which provides direct funding for improved in hours and out of hours services.’
