This module gives advice on involving patients and the public, covering:

  • Involving users of services to promote better designs that get used more often
  • Understanding diversity issues - different communities may have different barriers to services
  • Ensuring that commissioning meets local need
  • Obtaining a representative group of people for commissioning purposes
  • Using questionnaires in surgery waiting rooms to involve patients
  • Which organisations to approach for help

This module was first published on 21st February 2011 and was up to date with all key guidelines and evidence at that point. It will be reviewed as part of our routine update cycle by 21st February 2013 but will be updated sooner to reflect any key guideline changes.
