Exclusive: The practice of GPC deputy chair Dr Richard Vautrey is one of thousands across the country which has rejected the BMA's call to industrial action, Pulse can reveal.
The Meanwood Group Practice in Leeds said it was unaffected by industrial action and was performing routine appointments as normal.
Dr Vautrey has been conducting a series of media interviews over the past week in support of the BMA's action, and said today on the social networking site Twitter he had been ‘heartened by patient support'.
But Dr Vautrey, who was not at the surgery today, declined to say why his practice had decided against joining the BMA action.
He told Pulse: ‘I'm not going to talk about my practice. I'm taking part, and that is the important thing. I'm here in London speaking up for GPs' rights across the UK.'
Latest figures from the BMA suggest that a third of practices are taking action, either in full or in part. However figures from NHS London suggest 83% of surgeries in the capital are offering full services, compared with 63% in the south of England.
