Health warnings on booze bottles, walking cuts breast cancer risk and a breakthrough on arthritis

Drinking can kill you, a group of MPs have warned. The All-Parliamentary Group on Alcohol Misuse is calling for cigarette packet-style health warnings to be printed on all alcoholic beverages, the Guardian reports.

Walking 30 minutes a day can reduce the risk of breast cancer, writes the Telegraph. Menopausal women, who kept the exercise up over time, were 10% likely to develop the disease, according to researchers.

UK scientists have made a new discovery of a material inside joints which may be worsening arthritis, offering hope for the development of new treatments for the painful ailment.

Professor Jim Gallagher, who led the study in Liverpool, told the Daily Express: ‘There is no cure for osteoarthritis but it is one of the leading causes of disability, causing immense pain and difficulty of movement to sufferers. We have discovered a previously unrecognised mechanism of cartilage destruction in human hip joints. This discovery could certainly lead to new treatments.’
