What we did
We use the SMS sending function on our electronic records system combined with a patient information leaflet from the Patient UK website to provide condition leaflets optimised for smartphones.
We just copy and paste the internet address of the leaflet into the text message box, and the patient can view it at patient.co.uk.
The result
It saves us wasting materials on printing and time in consultations. Patients appreciate being able to access a reliable website on their phones.
