The Che Guevara award for revolutionary activity

Another political award, and another win for the BMA, for its heroic attempts to rabble-rouse over the health bill and pensions.

First it tried to block the largest reforms to the NHS in its history with a ‘Twitter storm' that ended up as more of a light breeze; then, in lieu of balloting GPs on whether they wanted to join other health unions in striking over pensions, the BMA unveiled its secret weapon – a sticker campaign.

Occupy Richmond House it wasn't, but to be fair the BMA has now opted to oppose the health bill in its entirety, and will step up its campaigning in 2012. Expect some shiny badges or maybe a nice line in campaign mugs.
