The Frankie Boyle award for most brutal QIPP of the year

List cleansing has hit the headlines throughout this year as PCTs desperately searched down the back of their proverbial sofa for loose change, and inadvertently removed thousands of genuine patients from lists in the process.

The worst offender was NHS Brent, which takes the QIPP gong after it wiped nearly 40,000 patients from GP practice lists overnight.

It was left to the Burt Reynolds of BMA House, Londonwide LMCs' Dr Tony Grewal, to find the appropriate words, condemning the move as ‘appalling', ‘morally bankrupt' and placing the vulnerable and elderly at risk.
