NHS England’s new chief executive Simon Stevens got the shock of his life after he was heckled and jeered at the RCGP conference. Perhaps the brisk Mersey air had stirred the audience, but more likely Mr Stevens was hoist by his own petard when he told the audience to ‘reflect’ on the damage they had cause raising alarm over the state of general practice and making bad jokes about the conference programme. He might want to polish his messaging for next year.
Runner-up NHS England for issuing contract breach notices to practices for not opening on Christmas Eve, and then telling its own staff they could go home early for the festive season.<<<
