This case refers to a 74-year-old patient who rang the out-of-hours service after having chest pain in the middle of the night which lasted around 45 minutes.

He refused to go to A&E and when you see him it is during a home visit the following day and you don’t have access to his medical records. He has no history of heart problems and is taking Lansoprazole 15mg OD for indigestion.

This practice case is taken from the book ‘Get Through MRCGP: Clinical Skills Assessment, Second Edition’ by Bruno Rushforth, Val Wass, Valerie Wass, Adam Firth, published September 28, 2012 by CRC Press
