Dr Greg Irving comes in at number 41 in the 2013 Pulse Power 50. He is a new entry in the list.
Having qualified as a GP in 2010, Dr Irving is already building a real name for himself at the RCGP, producing research that will contribute to primary care in a significant way.
The ‘passionate and hard-working’ GP from Liverpool was last year’s winner of the RCGP’s Yvonne Carter Award for outstanding new researcher and is
a member of the college’s international committee and the Medical Technologies Advisory Committee at NICE.
He is a National Institute for Health Research clinical research fellow and is working on a doctorate exploring the needs of patients with chronic heart failure at the end of life.
His public health MSc produced a systematic review that contributed to changes in WHO vaccination programmes and he was subsequently invited to join the WHO strategic advisory group on vaccination policy.
