49. Dr Zoe Williams

Dr Zoe Williams is perhaps most well known for being the resident TV GP on This Morning.

But behind the scenes she is also sharing her knowledge in myriad different ways – including as a national adviser on physical activity at Public Health England, the RCGP’s physical lifestyle clinical champion, and as a founding director of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine.

Meanwhile, Dr Williams’ social media campaign #GPParkrunPledge, designed to encourage physical activity by joining up GP practices with local park run events, saw more than 182,000 take part in the event’s first anniversary celebrations over the summer.

Dr Williams has a particular interest in issues stemming from diabetes and diet, but also on reducing health inequalities. This is largely inspired by her practice’s location in a deprived area of south London, where the patient list is primarily Afro-Caribbean.
