I'm 56 and have just handed in my six-month notice because I'm burnt out and can't carry on.
My plan after this summer was to live off savings until I am 58 in November 2012 and accept a 10% reduction in annual pension.
If a later retirement age is brought in before then I will trigger my pension sooner (at a higher penalty). If they want us to work to 65, they will have to make general practice less stressful and onerous.
