The option of retiring at 60 or working longer

I strongly believe in the NHS and feel that I have worked hard in it. Over the years it has become more onerous and the number of hoops doctors have had to jump through has increased.
I would like the option of retiring at 60 and staying longer if I feel it is appropriate for me to do so. If it becomes apparent that after a certain date one is committed to working until 65, then the chances are I may choose to leave beforehand – and even before 60!
