We are counselled regularly about safeguarding the security of our personal data. We hear frequently of scams and frauds being perpetrated using personal data that has leaked to certain countries in Africa and Asia.
I would strongly object to any of my basic personal data being passed to an NHS Shared Business Services centre in India or anywhere else outside of Britain, as it puts me at risk of identity theft.
I would be extremely unhappy about any of my sensitive personal data, such as health or financial information, being handled outside Britain, as this constitutes an extreme level of unnecessary risk.
I wish to object absolutely to business service functions being outsourced beyond the boundaries of the security and legal cover of Britain. I suspect many of my colleagues and patients would feel likewise.
