Copperfield spot on on self-prescribing

In his recent column on the increasing scrutiny faced by GPs who self-prescribe, Copperfield is spot on

We rely on self-prescribing

Common sense and responsible behaviour – such as self-prescribing for minor illness – should be encouraged, but hey, this is the NHS.

My sickness absence over 33 years is negligible (apart from five weeks for a hip replacement). I think this is probably true for most of the older generation of GPs.

Roll on retirement.
