Thousands of junior doctors took to the streets of London on Saturday to demonstrate against the proposed contract changes. The health secretary, who was peeping from behind a curtain, was incensed when he spotted a grammatically incorrect placard amongst the crowd.
‘This is clearly the work of the BMA,’ says an enraged health secretary, ’The job of any government is to keep the streets safe and we all know that two singular subjects connected by either/or, or neither/nor require a singular verb. This is a schoolboy error and could only have been committed by those savages at the BMA.’
It’s also believed that militants from the BMA whipped up the crowd into a frenzy of orderly queuing and even incited one young activist to accidentally drop his banana and granola yoghurt.
‘We live in a democracy,’ says the health secretary, ‘and we refuse to recognise sloppy grammar and will never tolerate the accidental spillage of a low-fat breakfast option.’
