CAMHS won't see you now

It's not all doom and gloom

Each week we take a GP's-eye view of an area of the UK if you would like to contribute, see the red panel below

Where? Darlington, or Darlo, is in the North-East, not far from Middlesbrough.

Sum it up in four words? 'Short breaks, long memories'

Work? Some 55 GP posts in 11 surgeries within the Darlington PCT area.

Homes? A three/four bedroom Georgian town house with garden, backing on to a park in a 'prime West End location'? £345,000

Schools? Best A-level results are achieved at the independent girls Polam Hall School. Hurworth House School, also independent, is the best for boys' A-levels.

Leisure? New Dolphin leisure centre, the usual complement of cinemas, the Tees Forest, Yorkshire and Durham moors and dales and the North-East coast.

From the local press:

'Claims by developers of a Southern port that there is not a traffic problem in the South have been dismissed as ''barmy'' by Teesport owner PD Ports.'

Famous residents:

TV comedian Vic Reeves of Reeves and Mortimer fame.

Anything else? Alan Milburn (who some of you may remember as Health Secretary) is the local MP.
