What ‘holiday pressure’?

To suggest GPs were coming under ‘holiday pressure' before Christmas is to use a misnomer (‘Pressure on GPs to provide full service before Christmas').

Both 23 and 30 December are normal working days. How about ‘GPs are encouraged to work normal hours before holiday weekends'? We are open normally on those days, and appointments were in demand on 23 December. We also kept slots open for 30 December, in case of an upsurge in illness – which is not unusual at this time.
