The BMA's Annual Representatives Meeting will demand the Government drops plans to abolish practice boundaries and will call for Darzi centres to be scrapped.
Motions on the agenda for this year´s ARM will express the profession´s dismay at the waste of public money directed to NHS Direct, polyclinics and walk-in centres and the commercialisation of the NHS.
Mr Lansley will attempt to set out the new coalition government´s stall for the health service when addresses the meeting in Brighton.
The meeting will also debate key policy motions that GP practice boundaries should stay and that the national programme for IT should be scrapped. It will also consider revalidation and GMC issues and hear calls for a national debate on rationing, for an end to NHS funding for homeopathy and demands that patient care should not suffer because of the financial climate or because of the European Working Time Directive.
