This award-winning picture shows a fluorescein-dyed dendritic ulcer caused by a corneal infection in a 36-year-old patient.
This picture was a bronze award winner in the 2009 Institute of Medical Illustrators awards and was taken by Kim Baxter in the media studio at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is the third in our series of clinical pictures which will be published every week. Check back here to see future pictures.
