Guidance for 2014/15 QOF unveiled

Draft guidance for the 2014/15 QOF has been published, outlining the requirements GPs will have to meet to achieve points on clinical and public health domain indicators this year.

The guidance gives the details for those remaining indicators kept in or reworded after GPC negotiators agreed a radical overhaul of the framework to cut back on ‘box ticking’ work.

The deal saw removal of several clinical indicators that were imposed the previous year as well as the whole of the Quality and Productivity and the Patient Experience domain, worth a total of 341 points.

However, the document reminds GPs they will still have their performance on retired indicators scrutinised, as ‘periodically, NHS England will extract information from practices’ clinical systems for retired indicators and this may inform future negotiations’.
