LMC calls on practices to share examples of denied DES funding

Londonwide LMCs are investigating the decision of the NHS England London area team to deny ‘hundreds’ of practices payments for their patient participation DES achievements, as revealed by Pulse.

The LMC has called on practices to tell them if they’ve been denied funding for the DES, after Pulse revealed that practices across the country had been denied tens of thousands of pounds in funding because of an unannounced crack down on practices not adhering to ‘minutiae’ of the specification.

Londonwide LMCs’ website states: ‘In order to understand the extent of the problem and help us address this issue with NHS England on your behalf, we need further details from practices and kindly request that you answer four simple questions by following this link.’

‘Please note that at this stage we will only be collating information in order to build a case with NHS England.’

One practice in South Yorkshire – where half of practices were affected – was denied funding because it uploaded its achievement report on its website, rather than in a word or pdf document.
