Flagship Pulse LIVE GP conference comes to Wales for the first time

Flagship Pulse LIVE GP conference comes to Wales for the first time

GPs in Wales are invited to the first-ever Pulse LIVE Cardiff this summer for a day of clinical updates, practical learning and time to network with peers and exhibitors.

Taking place on Thursday 2 July at the All Nations Conference Centre, GPs will be able to earn up to four CPD hours for their appraisals and/or revalidations.

This comes at a pivotal time for primary care in Wales, as last week GP leaders called for for a ‘comprehensive’ review of the Carr-Hill funding formula specific to Welsh practices’ needs.

At their national conference in Newport, LMC leaders also urged the Government to commission practices to provide GLP-1 therapies, and called for a GP retention scheme to support GPs who may leave the workforce prematurely.

At the end of last year, Welsh GP leaders reached a deal with the Government resulting in £41.9m of investment for 2025/26.

Pulse editor Sofia Lind said: ‘We’re incredibly excited to be bringing Pulse LIVE to Wales for the first time this year. Well-established in England and Scotland, and with a first visit to Belfast last year, this ticks off all the nations for our flagship conference.

‘GPs I spoke to at the busy first conference in Belfast in the autumn particularly welcomed our varied programme, focused not just on the clinical but also on the financial and political aspects of general practice. I am hopeful the GPs of Wales will give us as warm a welcome.’

The clinical agenda at Pulse LIVE Cardiff is yet to be unveiled but will include: long-term conditions and chronic disease management, weight management updates, diagnostics, genomics and interpretation skills and more.

Tickets are free for all practising, GMC-registered GPs and GP trainees. For more information and to sign up for the event, visit the event’s website.

The Pulse LIVE roadshow will be travelling across the country throughout 2026, with events in LondonBirmingham and more planned.
