Pulse LIVE kicks off with RCGP chair and GMC chief

The first Pulse LIVE of the year will be taking place in London today and tomorrow, with keynote speeches from the chief executive of the GMC and the chair of the RCGP.

The GMC’s Charles Massey will tomorrow be discussing the regulator’s plans for staff and associate specialist doctors to work in general practice, among other things.

Professor Kamila Hawthorne began her three-year term as RCGP chair in November 2022, and this is her first appearance at Pulse LIVE, where she will be discussing what the future of general practice will look like.

Also speaking at the event in the Novotel London West in Hammersmith will be Dr Farah Jameel, who is on maternity leave as chair of the GPC, but will be appearing in a personal capacity, and Dr Lisa Harrod-Rothwell, deputy CEO at Londonwide LMCs.

Attendees will receive 7.5 hours worth of CPD on topics such as transforming COPD, clinical assessment and management of obesity and the menopause.

Pulse editor Jaimie Kaffash said: ‘Pulse LIVE remains the most exciting gathering of grassroots GPs in the UK. We once again have a stellar line-up of speakers and topics, but even more important is seeing GPs coming together and swapping ideas.’
