The chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners has been announced as a speaker at a new conference aimed at bringing general practice and community pharmacy together for collaboration.

Professor Victoria Tzortziou Brown OBE will address attendees at the Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference in Birmingham this summer.

Taking place on 21-22 June 2026 at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham, the free, CPD-accredited conference is delivered in partnership with Pulse and the National Pharmacy Association (NPA).

Focused on neighbourhood health, the two-day event will bring together GPs, practice managers, community pharmacists, nurses, PCN and ICB leaders to discuss how to deliver the collaboration needed amid 10-year health plan ambitions.

GPs can register for free here.

Alongside Professor Tzortziou Brown, other speakers unveiled include former RCGP president and BMA GPC committee member Dr Richard Vautrey, and GP lead for digital transformation (Primary Care) at NHS England Dr Shanker Vijay.

The conference’s programme focuses on real-world and case-based learning, with sessions designed to address key challenges facing primary care, including access, workload, medicines optimisation and service integration.

The full programme is yet to be revealed, but sessions will include a hands-on collaboration workshop addressing common friction points between the general practice and community pharmacy interface, with a focus on improving vaccination uptake, and making Pharmacy First work in practice.

The programme also features a case study-led session from general practice, exploring how one GP has successfully integrated community pharmacy into service delivery through innovative approaches and strategic partnerships.

In addition, the event will include a GP Pharmacy in Focus with the Primary Care Pharmacy Association, National Pharmacy Association Members’ Forum, and a dedicated Networking Zone running throughout both days of the conference.

Worth 10 CPD points, the Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference is free to attend and designed to support practical collaboration across primary care.
