A practice in Devon is putting on a show starring patients, doctors and receptionists.
Named ‘the Loyal Variety Performance’, the concert at College Surgery in Cullompton is the brainchild of Dr Neil Rushton, who told Pulse that it was intended ‘to put a bit of fun back into our stressful lives’.
The surgery, which has over 16,000 patients, will use its waiting room as an ‘amphitheatre’, according to strategic manager Andrew Stennett. Around 100 people will be able to attend the concert on 22 May.
Dr Rushton said: ‘I don’t think this has ever been done before. We intend to have a play next, in the autumn.’
The surgery houses famous GPs Dr Michael Dixon, chair of the NHS Alliance, and Dr David Jenner, the former GP contracts lead at NHS Alliance and now a board member at Northern, Eastern and Western Devon CCG although it was not clear, at the time of writing, whether they would feature in the performance.
