15:30 Over the weekend health secretary Jeremy Hunt made an extraordinary claim that the number of foreign doctors working in the NHS ‘should be cut’ after leaving the EU, with home-grown doctors replacing them, according to the Mail Online.
Mr Hunt also reportedly questioned why ‘more than a quarter of NHS doctors were foreign when scores of bright Britons were turned away from medical school.’

The 44-year-old has been the first of 50 HIV-positive people to test a new treatment as part of a trial led by five British universities.
The treatment targets even dormant cells, which typically dodge traditional HIV treatment, and early tests have found no trace of the virus in the man’s blood.
Mark Samuels, managing director of the National Institute for Health Research Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure, said: ‘This is one of the first serious attempts at a full cure for HIV.
‘We are exploring the real possibility of curing HIV. This is a huge challenge and it’s still early days but the progress has been remarkable.’

The investigation, which national newspaper the Mirror has picked up from Pulse, shows most NHS England regional teams have not even decided which practices should receive the funding, 14 months on.
