This PulsePlus covers musculoskeletal medicine. It includes advice on muscle disorders, acute knee injuries and inflammatory arthritis.

  • Recognising common muscular dystrophies presenting in primary care
  • Taking a history in patients with suspected inflammatory arthritis
  • Effectively examining patients who present with acute knee injuries
  • Identifying red flags for septic arthritis, non-accidental injury and neoplasia in children with musculoskeletal problems
  • Managing cardiovascular risk in rheumatoid arthritis

This module was first published on 9th February 2011 and was up to date with all key guidelines and evidence at that point. It will be reviewed as part of our routine update cycle by 9th February 2013 but will be updated sooner to reflect any key guideline changes.
