Tory ministers secretly admit their NHS reforms were a ‘huge strategic error’, wasting large amounts of money every year, The Times reports this morning.
According to the paper, a senior cabinet minister said: ‘We’ve made three mistakes that I regret, the first being restructuring the NHS. The rest are minor.’
And staff are showing their dismay with NHS financials today, as they go out on their first mass strike in 32 years. The Guardian reports that maternity services are among those to be worst affected.
The Daily Mail is more concerned with dementia care however, reporting on CQC inspections finding ‘nine in ten’ care homes are neglecting patients.
