Patient survey scores based on unreliable responses

So access scores in the patient survey have dropped again.

(GPs set to miss access targets as survey scores dip further)

Like many other practices, we find the figures from our day-to-day practice survey of access dip when there are fewer appointments with the more longstanding doctors. The patients' answers are not related to actual 48-hour availability but to availability of their preferred doctor.

Often patients will be given an appointment within the 48-hour period and yet straight away return their questionnaire having marked a ‘no' in answer to the question ‘did you receive an appointment within 48 hours?'

Unbelievable!
