So access scores in the patient survey have dropped again.
Like many other practices, we find the figures from our day-to-day practice survey of access dip when there are fewer appointments with the more longstanding doctors. The patients’ answers are not related to actual 48-hour availability but to availability of their preferred doctor.
Often patients will be given an appointment within the 48-hour period and yet straight away return their questionnaire having marked a ‘no’ in answer to the question ‘did you receive an appointment within 48 hours?’
