Playing politics with OOH services

I'd like to comment on the plans at some primary care organisations for out-of-hours to be given to local doctors.

Trusts insist on local GPs in out-of-hours overhaul

Ten years ago all GPs had local practice rotas. We took turns in looking after each other's patients. This was taken away from us not for our benefit, but to buy votes. Now the Conservatives are trying to buy us back. The GP profession seems to be a ping-pong ball, tossed from one side to the other, with the losers being the patients. We GPs are all for change for the better but not at the cost of freedom of choice.
