Two new GPs join the 2013 GPs to be blog

Two new GP trainees, Michael Kilshaw and Laura O'Loghlen, will join Avradeep Chakrabarti and Julie Fry on the GPs to be blog for 2013.

Michael is an ST2, currently living and working in Cheltenham. Michael qualified from University College London in 2003 and trained as a registrar in orthopaedic surgery before 'seeing the light' and moving to general practice. Outside work he plays the trumpet, enjoys cricket and likes looking for good pubs in Gloucestershire (any suggestions appreciated). Michael can also be found on Twitter @docmike79.

Laura is a married mother of one from Devon who is about to start training to be a GP in Gloucestershire after a period of maternity leave. Before she went on leave, she was a ST5 registrar in palliative care.

You can read their first blogs now here - Michael wonders why there's such pressure on generalists to 'know everything', and Laura reports on how it feels to attend A&E as a worried mum just weeks before she starts her training shifts there.

Let us know what you think of their first posts in the comments.
