OOH reprieved but session pay will be cut

I have just received a letter from the head of primary care at the Isle of Man, advising that the out-of-hours work, which as I wrote last week was threatened with closure, will continue.

(Letters: 'OOH cut and replaced with paramedics)

But it will do so with a reduction in remuneration of between 3.2% and 42.8% (no, I didn't get the decimal point wrong).

The average reduction is 15%, yet there is no mention of any corresponding reduction in any other area of primary care.

We GPs will meet next week to discuss our response.
