There is a perception in PCT land that the decision to admit a patient is a frivolous one and that if we thought a bit harder it could be avoided. 'Oh if we admit this patient they will miss the lastest episode of Eastenders and be socially disadvantaged as a consequence - best avoid it then' Huw Williams

The thing that cheers me is that I am not alone! My PCT has the same hand book of how to piss off GP's in the best interests of patients, even though they have no idea what a patient is apart from they cause breachs and overspends! Joe McGilligan
