Truth well told. Practice of medicine had been, is, and would ever be empirical notwithstanding the research we conduct to establish or destablish one thing or other. Vijaypal Singh

The history of medicine is littered with discarded fashions which were periodical "must do's". The fly in the medical ointment has been homeopathy - unchanged for 200 years until just recently re-branded as witchcraft- now that's real scientific, EBM progress! Andrew Sikorski

If only the powers-that-be would grasp the fact that every human body has a unique microbiota and metabolic response. We could get rid of swathes of one-size-fits-all guidance. Then GPs could get on with dealing with individual patients who have individual needs and respond individually to drugs.
