This new revision is in total contradiction to what we have been told by the DoH previously ie to increase the detection rate of hypertension. Use of ambulatory BP monitors are not appropriate as it is expensive and if you work in an area where there is high deprivation, you may not see your machine again. Otherwise it will be referral your local hospital for the test. Either way it is ridiculous. Let's hope this is not going to be another Darzi moment!!!!!! Herman Lai

I have undertaken ambulatory monitoring many issues include infection, control procedures, training of device, correct cuff size and application, causes stress in many individuals ,Why not undertake home self monitoring with advisable monitor from the surgery with regular monitoring , reducing stress levels alyson thomas

It could be extraload for GP & painful for Pts. It can give mixed opinion in diagnosing the Hypertension suresh singh
