Sadly the opposite is true! "Pre-hypertension", metabolic syndrome,healthy people who are slightly overweight etc etc, pull them off the street, medicalise them and then tell them we can't afford to treat them! A sure fire recipe for improved morale all round!! Cheers richard mitchell

An alternative caption would be "This is not a GP" ('Ah, but you see, it's not a GP, is it, it's a picture of something we call a pipe, but actually its an NHS manager - a commissioner even. Anyway, you're not even a smoker unless you smoke a pipe, now bugger off.') Steve Barratt

well. you have to draw the line somewhere don't you. or are you suggesting we spend every last penny we have on healthcare. oh wait, that would be ridiculous wouldn't it. if there is a budget shortfall you got to save money somewhere, same as any other profession. chris brown
