It is clearly completely against the principles of screening because in reality we have no treatment that will bring about a cure. It will terrify many in the population and have relatives demanding that something be done when it can't be. The charity has presumably pushed for this to raise the profile of the condition but the distress that it will cause will achieve nothing but angst for all of us.

Never mind th epolicy of screening admissions, it would be nice if hospitals were better able to cope with known dementia cases that are admitted - staff seem to forget that patients have memory problems! It would be more helpful if resources were targetted in this way

I wonder who is going to do this screening. As the evidence suggests screening would do more harm than good, one presumes that doctors cannot do so on ethical grounds.
