Pulse LIVE Birmingham to feature on-stage interview with the BMA’s GP Committee chair
GPC chair Dr Katie Bramall

Pulse will host an on-stage interview with the chair of the BMA’s GP committee Dr Katie Bramall at Pulse LIVE Birmingham on 10 June.

Dr Bramall’s appearance comes at a pivotal point as the BMA in England squares up for a potential fight with the Government, threatening collective action by 30 April if its demands are not met.

The union has asked that the Government ‘pauses’ its plans around mandated advice and guidance and puts in safeguards regarding same-day access – as laid out in the 2026/27 GP contract.

Dr Bramall has also been pushing the Government to make good on its promise for a wholesale new GMS contract from 2028 onwards; and for clarity for GPs on neighbourhood health reorganisation plans.

Pulse will speak with Dr Bramall as part of our ‘Big Interview’ series, which will also feature on the Pulse in Focus podcast.

The free-to-attend conference, worth up to four CPD points, takes place on Wednesday 10 June at the National Conference Centre in Solihull.

The full agenda for Pulse LIVE Birmingham is now live and will also cover a range of clinical topics including lipid management, vitiligo, chronic anxiety, asthma and more.

Pulse editor Sofia Lind said: ‘If you are a GP in or around Birmingham, don’t miss this free opportunity to boost your CPD while networking with colleagues. We’re also especially excited to welcome Dr Katie Bramall at a critical point for general practice in England.’

Tickets are free for all practising, GMC-registered GPs and GP trainees. For more information and to sign up for the event, visit the event’s website.

The Pulse LIVE roadshow will be travelling across the country throughout 2026, with events in LondonCardiff and more planned.

At the last Pulse LIVE Birmingham, Professor Gillian Leng – leader of the Government-commissioned review into PAs – was interviewed by Sofia ahead of the release of her report

And last March, primary care minister Stephen Kinnock spoke at Pulse LIVE London, addressing GP delegates on general practice’s central role in the future of the NHS, and also answered questions from the audience.
