Last chance for GPs to register for Pulse LIVE Cardiff
GPs have two weeks left to sign up for the first-ever Pulse LIVE Cardiff on 2 July, where Pulse will host an on-stage interview with the chair of the BMA’s GP committee in Wales Dr Gareth Oelmann.
The free-to-attend conference will also feature an opening plenary with Charlie Massey, chief executive of the GMC, who will speak to delegates about the current challenges facing the profession.
This comes at a pivotal time for primary care in Wales, as the Welsh Government was told in March that shifting care to GP practices will not be possible without a period of doubling funding.
This followed GPs’ national conference where LMC leaders called for a ‘comprehensive’ review of the Carr-Hill funding formula specific to Welsh practices’ needs, and urged the Government to commission practices to provide GLP-1 therapies.
The conference, worth up to four CPD points, takes place on Thursday 2 July at the All Nations Conference Centre in Cardiff.
Pulse deputy news editor Anna Colivicchi will speak with Dr Oelmann as part of our ‘Big Interview’ series, which will also feature on the Pulse in Focus podcast.
The full agenda for Pulse LIVE Cardiff is now live and will also cover a range of clinical topics including COPD, palpitations, UTIs, health inequalities and more.
Tickets are free for all practising, GMC-registered GPs and GP trainees. For more information and to sign up for the event, visit the event’s website.
Earlier this month, Pulse editor-in-chief Jaimie Kaffash hosted the Big Interview at Pulse LIVE Birmingham with the BMA’s chair of GPC England Dr Katie Bramall, who laid out her plans for escalating collective action, as well what GMS overhaul could entail.
And at Pulse LIVE London in April, Baroness Gerada was interviewed by editor Sofia Lind. She shared her experience of being a GP in the House of Lords, her insights on the failed assisted dying bill, and how GPs can get the Government to listen to them.
