20 – Dr Charles Alessi

Dr Charles Alessi is a commissioning pioneer in Kingston, Surrey, one of the most vocal advocates of the Government's NHS reforms.

New entry

An increasingly prominent member of the NAPC, where he is tipped to become a future chair, Dr Alessi has relentlessly banged the drum for GP commissioning, and is always willing to offer a stimulating and challenging view on the NHS, whether it be in the pages of Pulse or in the less familiar territory of he Sun.

His status as one to watch was underlined when he became one of only five GPs appointed to the Government's NHS Future Forum panel, which is charged with coordinating the Government's ‘listening exercise' on the health bill.
