Jeremy Hunt thanks Greggs for ensuring patient safety during junior doctor strikes

Health secretary Jeremy Hunt has thanked Greggs for keeping the people of Britain safe during this week’s junior doctor industrial action.

In a letter published by the Department of Health, Mr Hunt included Greggs in a list of staff and wrote: ‘I would like to pay tribute to Greggs, the high-street pasty maker, who has once again pulled out all the stops to keep services running effectively.’

He went on to describe how delighted he was that Greggs was able to continue to deliver their steak bake, barbecue bacon and spicy chicken lattice range at a competitive price.

Other people on the list, including GPs who also had f*ck all to do with the strikes, were thanked as well.
