An interesting set of guidelines. However one of the most common causes of headache in children is that of uncorrected refractive error. Most commonly due to latent hypermetropia or some form of oculomotor inbalance. Nowhere in this guidnace is there any reference to common visual errors or isd there any mention of the sensible matter of checking that the child has had an eye examination to rule out simple refractive errors. In my time as an optometrist I have lost count of the many times that refractive errors have been the cause of headache. This omission is a very large one indeed and is a great pity.
