Pulse editor to interview Baroness Gerada at Pulse LIVE London

Pulse will host an on-stage interview with former RCGP chair and now-peer Baroness Gerada of Kennington at the Pulse LIVE conference in London later this spring.

Baroness Gerada, who is still a practising GP in London, was appointed to the House of Lords in October in recognition of her service to medicine and mental health, as a new non-party-political cross bench peer.

The prominent GP led NHS Practitioner Health from its formation in 2008 until 2020 and was chair of the RCGP from 2010 to 2013. Since becoming a peer, she has been vocal about her frustration over the slow progress of the assisted dying bill.

The free-to-attend conference, worth up to nine CPD points, takes place on 28-29 April at the Business Design Centre in Islington.

Pulse editor Sofia Lind will speak with Baroness Gerada on the first day of Pulse LIVE as part of our ‘Big Interview’ series, which will feature on the Pulse in Focus podcast and cover topics including how she hopes to influence the future of general practice from the red benches; GP mental health; the assisted dying bill and much more.

Sofia said: ‘I’m very excited that Baroness Gerada has accepted my invitation for an interview at Pulse LIVE London. Her vast and varied experience in general practice is unmatched and I hope any GP based in or near London will be able to take some time out of their busy schedule to listen to her insights.

‘In addition, the conference will feature a host of clinical topics of current and evergreen nature, giving an opportunity for clinical development, whilst meeting new and old GP colleagues.’

The clinical agenda at Pulse LIVE London includes: AI in obesity management, urology, PCOS, proactive frailty management and more. The full agenda can be found here.

Tickets are free for all practising, GMC-registered GPs and GP trainees. For more information and to sign up for the event, visit the event’s website.

The Pulse LIVE roadshow will be travelling across the country throughout 2026, with events in Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff and more planned.

Last June, Professor Gillian Leng – leader of the Government-commissioned review into PAs – was interviewed by Sofia at Pulse LIVE Birmingham ahead of the release of her report.

And in March, primary care minister Stephen Kinnock spoke at Pulse LIVE London, addressing GP delegates on general practice’s central role in the future of the NHS, and also answered questions from the audience.
